Nik’s Commodore Keys – Tennessee

After blowing a 13-10 halftime lead over Kentucky, the Commodores went on to lost 24-13, yet another defeat. The Commodore’s record stands at 2-9, and they are winless in the SEC. Today will mark the first meeting between Vanderbilt and new rival coach Lane Kiffin. The Commodore faithful can only hope that they can establish a new tradition with a new coach at UT.

'Dores take care of business in 75-60 win

There was no buzzer beater attempt at a tie in this one. No agonizing analysis or reason for motivational angst for the remainder of the season. This was a win, plain and simple, as Vanderbilt (3-0) repaid UC Riverside (1-3) for an early season surprise last year with a 75-60 payback.

The season might be young, but November basketball is just as important as the frenzy of February and the madness of early March. When Vanderbilt’s basketball team travels to Moraga, Calif., to take on the Saint Mary’s Gaels in a Friday night fight, NCAA Tournament resumes will be burnished and blemished.

Vanderbilt-Lipscomb Preview

There’s no other way to say it: This is the $100,000 season in Nashville. When Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings sent waves of good will radiating through the university with his act of uncommon generosity this past summer, Commodores of all ages took notice. The journey to justify a true leader’s six-figure sacrifice begins Monday against an in-city neighbor, the Lipscomb Bisons.
