What might “Life after Locker” look like?

Washington had a wildcard on just about every down in Jake Locker. Number 10 had the ability to break free on any down if the defense didn’t shadow him. Thus, coordinators had to account for his speed on every snap. With Locker wowing onlookers at this weekend's NFL combine, I thought it would be good to start looking ahead to what we might see at UW now that Montlake Jake is gone.

2011 Recruiting Rundown

Now that Signing Day is done, Dawgman has taken the time to sort through the rubble to see where how Washington Huskies finished out the recruiting process. Did they finish out the way they wanted to? Did they address all their needs? Did they get a solid mix of stars and team players? Was their haul effectively balanced between offense and defense?

Looking Beyond the Holiday Bowl, Part I

Washington won their last three games in a row, and not only earned a trip to the Holiday Bowl, but they got a huge measure of revenge in beating Nebraska. That is a great reward not only for a team that worked so hard to overcome a three-game losing streak, but also for a program that has not been to the post season in nearly a decade.

Recruiting Round-Up: 12/17

Washington is about to cruise through the holidays with a lot of momentum as they put the final touches on their recruiting class for 2011. With a Holiday Bowl date for December 30th against Nebraska, coach Steve Sarkisian has ample evidence of his success two years into turning a downtrodden Husky program around.

It's great to come back to a working week off a win, let the Washington Huskies have to do something they haven't done once this entire season - win back-to-back games. A loss followed by a win followed by a loss has become a maddening part of UW life lately. So how are they going to get it done against a top-15 BCS team? Below is all the information you're looking for as UW gets ready for UA.

Dawg Blog - USC

After a much-needed BYE week, Washington (1-2) gets back on the saddle, so to speak, and back into familiar territory - at least for Head Coach Steve Sarkisian. This will be Sarkisian's first return to Troy since leaving USC nearly two years ago. After the Huskies' 16-13 upset of the then No.3 Trojans in Seattle last year, does USC have something special cooking for Sark and company?

Dawg Blog - Nebraska

It's week three, and for some reason week three always brings about a tough opponent for Washington of late. USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State...it's been a virtual bloodbath at home. This weekend is no different, as the No. 6 Nebraska Cornhuskers come calling. Can the Huskies pull out a little last-second magic, as they did last year against the No. 3-ranked Trojans? Or will it a lopsided affair?

It was as nice a day as you could want in Seattle Thursday, as 81 Washington Huskies showed up for another competitive workout session. Overall, the work rate was high and there was plenty of enthusiasm to go around.

There is no depth chart right now, the UW Head Coach said after the Huskies' 10th practice of the spring. He wanted more physical play up front, he got it. He wanted to see different combinations of linemen on both sides of the line of scrimmage - he got that too.

Spring football is already half over, but team reps have gone up, hitting has increased a little bit. Progress has been made across all three phases of the game as they continually add new parts to their attack on all sides of the ball. The offense appears to be further ahead of the defense and defense appears to be further ahead of the kicking game.
