Idaho, newly available WR: Mutual interest

RYAN KESSMAN, formerly listed on the BYU roster as a 6-0, 205 pound freshman receiver, is back on the recruiting market. After signing with BYU this past February and spending part of the fall in Provo, Kessman asked for and was granted a release from the football program. Among the possible destinations, Idaho is one of the schools showing interest and, says Kessman's father, it's mutual.

NCAA Clears Kessman’s School Work

It is a sad state of affairs when a jump in a student athlete’s grades automatically raises the suspicions of the NCAA Clearing House. Unfortunately for future BYU wide receiver Ryan Kessman, doubts caused by other athletes taking shortcuts to eligibility resulted in the delay of his career as a Cougar.

Kessman Develops Strength through Opposition

BYU wide receiver commit Ryan Kessman recently suffered a setback in his quest to play for BYU. A thorough NCAA review of the superstar receiver/return man's academic record left him back home in California, rather than in class in Provo. The unfortunate turn of events led to an even more disturbing situation early this week, but despite it all the Kessmans are still persevering.

NCAA: Friend or Foe?

In the midst of an extremely frustrating ordeal, Ryan Kessman is trying to keep a positive outlook. Kessman planned to follow in the footsteps of fellow wide receiver McKay Jacobson and enroll early at BYU. His goal was within reach until the NCAA clearing house reared its ugly head. Now Kessman is focused on an NCAA appeal instead of taking college classes and playing a college sport.

Cougars Arriving Early

SoCal offensive phenom Ryan Kessman will arrive in Provo on Tuesday. He will join with linebacker recruit Austen Jorgensen in forgoing his final semester of high school to enroll early at BYU. The two young men hope that the extra time spent conditioning and practicing with the team will give them a head start in the race for playing time come August.
