White Prepared for Play Calling Duty

As Florida interim offensive coordinator Brian White preps to call plays for the first time since 2007, he doesn't expect many differences. The staff has prepared a game plan for the Gator Bowl that White thinks will be similar to what Florida looked like all season. After stints as the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin and Syracuse, White's test as a play caller will be against a Big Ten team.

Offensive Line Impressing White

The lack of playmakers on the Florida offense this season was made more difficult by an underperforming the offensive line. The Gators struggled to find consistency in the trenches to produce any run or pass game. With all of the issues on the offensive line this season, Florida interim offensive coordinator Brian White has been encouraged with how they looked early in bowl practices.

White Keeping Things the Same

Will Muschamp has been adamant about making things as simple as possible on his players during a time of transition. From him coming here a year ago replacing outgoing head coach
Urban Meyer and it means now as the Florida offense looks to replace the outgoing Charlie Weis as coordinator. With that in mind, Interim Offensive Coordinator Brian White will run the same plays at the bowl game.

White Happy at Florida Regardless

For Brian White this month could be considered a long interview process for the offensive coordinator position, but White says every move he makes in front of Will Muschamp is part of an overall interview process. As the Interim Offensive Coordinator for the Gators bowl matchup with Ohio State, White says he is content at Florida regardless of his position for next season.

White Fitting Parts Together

The fullback and tight end coach is a little more important these days in the Florida Gator offensive scheme. The two positions should be highlighted a great deal more than they have been, even with Mackey Award winning tight end Aaron Hernandez just a year ago. Tight end coach Brian White is busy sifting through a youthful bunch to try and find the right fit for many of them.

Tight Ends Developing

There is no more youthful position on the Florida Gator football squad than at tight end. Gone is all-American and Mackey Award winning tight end Aaron Hernandez to the pros and in his place are four freshmen with absolutely zero college experience. Brian White has his hands full this fall as the coach at the position, but is starting to like the talent he has on hand.

Dawg Blog - Notre Dame

Well, from a Washington perspective, it doesn't get much worse than this. Not only are the Huskies off to their worst start in nearly 40 years, but now they have the team that fired UW's current head coach coming into town. And to add insult, they are playing arguably their best ball to date. It's shaping up to be a textbook case of two teams inextricably linked going in opposite directions.

Dawg Blog - Oregon State

It's after the bye week, is there a game this coming weekend? You bet. The Oregon State Beavers - fresh off hanging 66 on Washington State, come looking for more Evergreen State pelts as they trek to Seattle to take on a beleaguered bunch of Huskies. The spread is already two touchdowns; is that being kind, or does Washington have it in them to reverse this curse?

With the Washington Huskies coming off a heartbreaking home loss against No. 15 BYU, they have to rebound, and do so quickly against the Oklahoma Sooners, the No. 3 team in the country.
Many people felt the Washington Huskies had the hardest schedule in college football last year. Heading into 2008, there doesn't seem like there's going to be much letup. For their opener, they dive head-first into conference play and go on the road at the same time. Oregon has not been a very kind host, winning their last three at home against the Huskies. What will this year bring?

This is not to demean their approach the past few years, but only to point out there is a renewed commitment to upgrading all aspects of kicking.

No matter how hard you try to stress it, the kicking game never really gets as much respect as does the other two phases of the game of football. Think about it.
