Practice not perfect for Pelini

As you prepare for any game, execution is at a premium. But when you are about to face a Virginia Tech, while coaches wouldn’t say it’s any different from any other game, a team like Tech can exploit those mistakes perhaps more than the teams Nebraska has faced thus far. Not a day for a team not to practice very well, which is what Coach Pelini said they got today.

Huskers resume practices with skeleton crew

Following a day off, the Huskers returned to practices as they hit the first week of what will be a two-week timeframe to prepare for the visiting Virginia Tech Hokies. Head Coach Bo Pelini said after practice today that there are a lot of upsides to a bye-week, but one of the byproducts of that today was the fact that he was short a few members of his staff for practice.

Post Practice Audio Bytes

Listen to audio from immediately after today's practice as Head Coach Bo Pelini talks about his team, the unorthodox team they will be facing this week and the health of a number of players at this time. Also listen to Tight Ends Coach Ron Brown talk about his tight ends, and how he remembers facing this odd style of defense as a coach of the Huskers, back in the mid-80s.

One-on-one with cornerback Anthony West

When freshman Anthony Blue went down for Spring, there was little doubt that for someone, another's misfortune would present a golden opportunity. You didn't have to ask Anthony West if he was ready to take advantage of it. Now he's just looking to hold that spot. But as the California-native said, being a starter mighty not mean a whole lot in the end.
