      <description>If you arrived for the ninth inning of Saturday's game at Sunken Diamond, you witnessed a flurry of offense with Stanford's nine runs and 10 hits following five runs and five hits by UCLA. But the Bruins had already built a massive lead and held on for the 16-11 victory, their second straight of the series. Stanford's pitchers were skewered, while the umpires added controversy early and late.</description>

      <title>Card Sweep Cal; Win Streak At Eight</title>
      <description>Sunday was a good day for the Cardinal baseball team.  Stanford completed the sweep of California with a 9-7 victory thanks to a 13-hit offensive attack and some impressive work from the bullpen.  The win extended the Cardinal's winning streak to eight games and was the 2,500th in the program's history.  Meanwhile, an injured player returned to the field for the first time in over a year.</description>

      <description>In a nine-inning contest that lasted nearly four hours, the Cardinal were able to salvage a game of their series at Texas.  Stanford scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a tie and then held off a Longhorn rally in the bottom of the frame for a 10-8 win.
