Vandals head to Nevada to wrap up 2011

Junior tailback RYAN BASS and the Idaho Vandals will put a cap on what has been a disappointing 2011 season Saturday at Nevada. The Vandals (2-9 overall, 1-5 WAC) will try to beat the Wolf Pack (6-5, 4-2 WAC) for the first time since joining the WAC in 2005. It is the last chance for Idaho to do that since Nevada is heading to the Mountain West Conference next season.

Vandals fall at New Mexico State

DESPITE A CAREER NIGHT BY IDAHO SENIOR PRINCETON MCCARTY, who accumulated 236 all-purpose yards including 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the game, the Vandals fell short at New Mexico State and dropped a 31-24 contest to the Aggies. It was Idaho's first loss to NMSU since 2007, and came as the Vandals were unable to score from the Aggie one yard line on the final play of the game.

Player Post-Game: Vandals Top Warriors

“I think it [being 6-1 at this stage of the season] is great for our seniors, its great for our fans, for the whole team - coach Akey. It’s a great start, but that’s all it is – it’s a start. We need to keep going, we need to keep playing good football. There’s nothing guaranteed yet, but we need to keep playing well, and we have been.” - QB Nathan Enderle following Idaho's win over Hawaii.

PHOTO GALLERY: Vandals Sprint Past Aggies

Idaho's much maligned young defensive unit held one of the Western Athletic Conference's top passing attacks to just 14 points Saturday afternoon, and the Vandal offense put together its best rushing effort of the season to amass 271 yards on the ground against New Mexico State. Idaho tailback PRINCETON MCCARTY had a career day, gaining 160 yards on 15 carries to propel Idaho to a 20-14 victory.
