Wenger Looking Forward to Senior Day

Saturday is Gator Senior Day, a day that only comes once for a college football player. Unless, of course, that player is Dan Wenger. The sixth year Notre Dame transfer went through senior day in South Bend last year, but that was before he knew he’d get another season. Wenger struggled with concussions, unsure of what his future held. The chance to play at Florida came up, and he jumped on it.

The Players' Take

Dan Wenger takes responsibility for what he calls poor play against LSU. Trey Burton gives props to Jacoby Brissett and Jaye Howard says Florida's success needs to start on the practice field. It's all right here!

Wenger Apologizes and Expects Better

Sixth year senior and transfer guard Dan Wenger is continuing to look ahead and not letting the outcome of the past weekend’s game against Alabama have an effect on the game with number one LSU this weekend. Although senior quarterback John Brantley is out for at least LSU, Wenger says the mindset of the offensive line hasn’t changed.

Wenger Sees a Difference in the OL

Dan Wenger has been a part of six offensive lines in his college career. Whether being on the field or involved in the film room with them as a young player, there are parts of each unit that Wenger uniquely remembers. It’s not hard for him to pick out what makes this year’s Florida offensive line stick out to him. It’s how close the unit has become.

Wenger: Mentor, Wrestler, Starter

For Dan Wenger it has been a rollercoaster ride of emotion, real pain, heartbreak, and now a new lease on life as a college football player. The sixth year senior and transfer from Notre Dame has beaten the odds in more ways than one to not only suit up in the toughest college football conference in America, but actually start and be a big part of one of the best programs in college football.

Wenger Takes Long Road to Gainesville

Dan Wenger thought it was over. When Notre Dame wouldn’t clear him to play his sixth season after a second concussion, football looked like it would become part of Wenger’s past. Memories of five years with the Fighting Irish were positive, but he wasn’t ready to stop playing. In a last ditch effort, Wenger called his former position coach Frank Verducci.

The World’s Most Invisible Lineman

He was finally listed on the roster on the team’s official web site on Friday, Florida football’s media day. Yet, when you click on his profile, they don’t have a picture of him yet. No one has asked the head coach about him. He wasn’t at media day to take questions. He’s not in the media guide. But, he’s played more college football than any offensive lineman on the roster.
