Tulane (1-5, 0-2 in C- USA) quarterback Anthony Scelfo completed 19-of-37 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns but also threw two interceptions. Sophomore receiver Jeremy Williams, who had a career-high 133 yards and a touchdown on six catches.

Turnovers are part of the offensive problem, but the general ineffectiveness of the passing game is a bigger problem. It remains to be seen whether the change at quarterback from Scott Elliott to Anthony Scelfo will resolve the problem

The second quarter was dominated by the Tulane defense, which allowed the Tigers only 36 yards and a field goal in the quarter, while sacking Tiger quarterback Matt Flynn three times. Seven penalties were enforced against the Tigers in the quarter, mostly on offensive linemen.

The Wave sent eleven hitters to the plate in the third. The inning started when Guidry drew a walk from Sorce, and advanced to third on an opposite field single by McFadden. Dyer's single to left scored Guidry and advanced McFadden to second. Designated hitter Aja Barto's double in the left centerfield alley then scored McFadden to make the score 6-0.
