Where are Cougs' casualties now?

SO WHERE ARE THEY NOW? At least four of the eight former Cougar footballers whose academic woes contributed most severely to the scholarship penalty the NCAA recently handed down on Washington State are still pursuing their athletic careers.

On eve of fall camp attrition rears it's head

FOUR PLAYERS, INCLUDING two starters, will not be present next week when veterans report for the start of the 2007 Cougs' fall camp. Andy Roof, who has started five games and was expected to be a key player up front at right guard, has been suspended for the semester. Along with Roof, another starter -- on defense -- plus two reserves, one on offense and one on D, will also miss the '07 season.

SCRIMMAGE 1: Offense rules the day

PULLMAN—It was wall-to-wall sunshine but even the skies had a hard time on Friday matching the picture perfect performances of QBs Alex Brink and Gary Rogers in the Cougs' first spring scrimmage. There were solid hits and head-turning feats on defense but the offense ruled the day, scoring five touchdowns. Despite the shining stat line, Bill Doba is thankful the 2007 season is still a ways away.

Cougar spring preview: Position fights on O

COMPARED TO THE DEFENSE, where several big holes need to be plugged, the to-do list on offense for Washington State this spring season appears fairly modest. Finding an answer at right tackle, where Charles Harris served so ably the last two seasons, figures to be job No. 1 for offensive coordinator Mike Levenseller when workouts start late this week.
