Most experts believe that 2009 could be a breakout year for the Texans, who finished at 8-8 the previous two seasons. The big “asterisk” involving Houston’s success many feel is the health of quarterback Matt Schaub, who has yet to complete a full 16-game season.

Expectations to Succeed for Orlovsky

When the Houston Texans signed former Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky, it was little more than an afterthought. There is clearly no quarterback controversy in Houston, as Matt Schaub is entrenched as the starter, but Orlovsky could play a big part in whether or not the Texans are a playoff contender in 2009.

Lions Notebook: Expect Culpepper to Start

With Dan Orlovsky officially listed as out with an injury to his throwing hand, Marinelli fielded questions on Friday regarding the team's starting signal caller -- and in typical Marinelli fashion, he refused to show his hand. But if common sense (and offensive coordinator Jim Colletto's remarks last week) are any indication, Culpepper is the obvious choice.
