slowly. Or was it injustice? Tuesday’s announcement that Roof has been expelled from Washington State came four days before the Cougars’ opening game and four MONTHS after he was involved in a campus brawl.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE ANDY ROOF has been expelled from the university by the school's student conduct board stemming from an April 26 incident. The Pullman police department requested charges by the Whitman County prosecutor's office on May 5 but that office has yet to decide on whether to file charges.
Giles heads list as Cougs make the grade

PULLMAN – Paul Wulff said all of WSU’s veterans and recruits should be cleared
academically by Tuesday. And that includes 2007 starting cornerback Devin
Giles, who missed spring practice and took a heavy class load during the
spring and summer semesters to become eligible. He wasn’t the only Coug hitting the books hard this summer.

Wulff: Don't call it the spread

DWIGHT TARDY HAS been cleared medically, Gary Rogers is the "clear cut No. 1" but that doesn't necessarily mean Kevin Lopina won't see the field, President Elson Floyd is behind Andy Roof and WSU won't be running the spread. Those were just some of the nuggets coming out of Pac-10 Media Day as Paul Wulff and Brandon Gibson talk Cougar football.

Wulff says Roof case not cut and dried

FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE ANDY ROOF's April run in with the law, Cougar head football coach Paul Wulff spoke Friday at some length about the case. And what he had to say paints a very different picture, one far less one-sided, than what has been reported to date.

Spring Ball Day 3: Full Contact

PULLMAN--The Cougs donned full pads for the first time on Thursday and for the most part, the offense ruled the day. Gary Rogers looked very much at home in the new, fast-paced offense and Daniel Blackledge turned in the catch of the young spring. Meanwhile, on defense, Markus Dawes looks hell bent on making up for lost time -- watching him do battle with Brandon Gibson has been a treat.

Big loss on OL means juggling act for Yarno

WSU GUARD Andy Roof has been suspended for the fall semester and football season following a series of legal and personal troubles, and o-line coach George Yarno will be forced to reshuffle his already thin unit. Roof, a fourth-year-junior from Spokane, started five games the last two seasons and was expected to become a key cog this year. What it all means for the line and offense going forward.
