FB Obafemi Ayanbadejo Suspended

Obafemi Ayanbadejo, the brother of Bears special-teams standout Brendon Ayanbadejo, has been suspended by the NFL for four games after testing positive for a banned substance.
Bears Claim FB Jon Goldsberry

With Bryan Johnson finally being released after a training camp injury last season and J.R. Runnels likely to spend 2007 on injured reserve, the Bears have been looking for depth at fullback. Obafemi Ayanbadejo joined the fray earlier in the offseason, and now Jon Goldsberry has been claimed off waivers. The former Bill and Bucanneer will compete with Ayanbadejo and starter Jason McKie.

Bears Sign FB Obafemi Ayanbadejo

Even though the Bears signed starter Jason McKie to a contract extension last year and drafted backup J.D. Runnels from Oklahoma in the sixth round, GM Jerry Angelo showed some interest in an additional fullback this offseason. With Runnels now going down because of injury, Angelo acted quickly. Obafemi Ayanbadejo, the brother of special teams star Brendon Ayanbadejo, has been added.
