Rams sign CB Rod Hood

The St. Louis Rams agreed to a free agent deal with veteran cornerback Rod Hood today, a league source confirmed.

Hood, 29, worked out for the Rams earlier this month.

The Rams needed help at cornerback with Ronald Bartell out for the season and Justin King burned for three touchdowns Sunday during a 37-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Cardinals' Defense Gets Gold Star

The Cardinals defense is often questioned for its lack of star power. But the Cardinals proved a household name doesn’t mean squat in the trenches. Arizona forced six turnovers and put an unprecedented amount of pressure on Carolina Panthers' QB Jake Delhomme, sparking Panthers fans to call for Delhomme’s head. The Cardinals take the 33-13 win and the budding notoriety that comes along with it.

Understanding Where the Cardinals Are

The Cardinals have talked a lot in recent weeks about building momentum for the playoffs, how they didn't want to be "one-and-done" in the postseason.
But they've done nothing to dispel the notion that such a finish is likely. The 35-14 loss to the Vikings Sunday was their fourth straight loss to a playoff contender.

The Cardinals put up doughnuts in the first half and didn't live up to their improving expectations.
The Arizona Cardinals suffered a 35-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings who left the home team in the dust early on. The Vikings had more to gain from a win in Sunday's ball game, but the Cardinals failed to expel the notion that they won't go far in the post season.
