Rogers Loses Heartbreaker

Chad Rogers was a late round selection in 2010 and had his professional career postponed while recovering from a shark bite injury. He’s been a predator on the mound since debuting at Dayton the next year. He’s kept a sub-two ERA at the AA level since a midseason promotion last year and is now bucking for another move to AAA.

Top 30 Reds Prospects: No. 16

Chad Rogers came to the Reds as an unheralded prospect from a 28th round selection in 2010. Since then he’s shed the late-round stigma as he ascended up their system. Rotation depth in the organization will likely start him off in AA where he’ll get opportunity to make a case for a move to Louisville by the end of 2013.

Rogers Impresses at AA

Chad Rogers was an unheralded pitcher when he came to the Reds from a 28th round selection out of Galveston College. Now the 22 year-old is shooting up the organization and has a sub-one ERA after two starts at Pensacola. Earlier this season he kept a low-three ERA and earned a spot on the all-star team representing the hitter friendly California League.

Blaze Shut Out 66ers

Right-hander Chad Rogers was not one of the one of the top rated prospects in the Cincinnati system after they selected him out of Galveston C.C. in the 28th round of the 2010 draft. He kept an ERA under three while working out of the Dayton bullpen in 2011. This year he may wind up the top starter in the Bakersfield rotation after the expected promotion of Tony Cingrani.
