Long Will Not Sign With UW

Lakes High School has been a fertile recruiting ground for Washington, with the two most productive receivers in Husky history having first been Lakes Lancers. Sammie Long, a 6-foot-4 receiver from Lakes was expected to follow the sizable footsteps of Reggie Williams and Jermaine Kearse, but after accepting a verbal offer from UW in March he's heard very little from his future college.

Sammie Long Impact Report

A lot of Washington fans were sweating their first football commitment for the class of 2013, as only ASU, OSU and WSU are now left as Pac-12 programs without at least one reported verbal commitment. Long, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound receiver prospect from Lakes High School in Lakewood, Wash., had plenty of time to think about things, so his thoughts turned to recruiting.
