Beach's Bits - Four Scenarios

The tumultuous 2012 Washington basketball season came to an unexpected end Tuesday evening in New York City. Post-game, the attention immediately shifted to next season and the fate of Terrence Ross and Tony Wroten, Jr. Normally a team losing just one senior (Darnell Gant) doesn’t face much uncertainty heading into the off-season, however the Huskies face several potential lineup scenarios.

LOS ANGELES - Well, Washington knows who they are going to play on Thursday at noon in the second round of the Pac-12 Tournament - the Oregon State Beavers.
The Washington Huskies imposed their will early and often against the lowly Trojans of USC 80-58 to claim at least a share of the Pac-12 regular season title for the first time since the 2008-09 season Thursday in Los Angeles at the Galen Center. It's the fourth conference title in as many years for UW, as they won the league tournament in 2010 and 2011.

Huskies mature while winning ugly

SEATTLE – Three parties failed to show up Saturday night to the USC-Washington basketball game - the referees, the scoreboard - and especially the Trojans. USC only managed 41 points, the refs spent more time at the scorer’s table instead of letting the game flow, and the hanging jumbotron at center court was mostly out of commission.

Huskies go big, get nasty

Washington debuted a beefy new lineup last Saturday afternoon against the Stanford Cardinal. With C.J. Wilcox sidelined with a stress fracture and Washington's offense stuck in the muck, UW Head Coach Lorenzo Romar made one of his boldest mid-season moves in memory. The Huskies went big. And not just big, but 6-foot-6, 260 pounds of knotted future NFL muscle big.
