SPRING DAY 9: Injury bug bites Beav TEs

CORVALLIS–Connor Hamlett went down, and Tyler Perry went down harder. Two Beav tight ends saw an early halt to their practice session on Monday and while one didn’t appear serious, the other got hauled off the field in a cart wearing a look of anguish on his face. There was other news on Day Nine, including a new look on defense, the tailbacks put on a show and the secondary deserves some praise.

OSU SPRING DAY 2: Strong start for Gwacham

CORVALLIS–Day Two of spring ball for OSU focused on helping players find a niche in the offensive/defensive schemes. There was some shifting of personnel on both sides of the ball and some position battles are heating up. Some looks at the offensive line, an update on the progress of Obum Gwacham, standout members of the secondary and more. All in all, Tuesday was just a great day for football.

OSU SPRING PREVIEW: The Secondary

CORVALLIS-There is no shortage of secondary talent at OSU this spring -- a dogfight for playing time is sure to ensue amongst the slew of Beaver pass defenders. Despite the talent bank, questions arise. Should veteran starters from 2012 expect competition for their jobs? Where is the new JC recruit going to land? Who will step in for Jordan Poyer? All that and more in this lengthy spring preview.

CORVALLIS – There’s been a whole lot of positive press this season on the cornerbacks. So just how good will Jordan Poyer, Rashaad Reynolds and crew be this year? What is it about the group that has engendered such optimism? And despite their many strengths, do the Beaver corners have a weakness, one that new assistant coach Rod Perry figures to start shoring up when fall camp kicks off on Monday?
