Lyerly Got A Leg Up

Rob Lyerly had grown accustomed to hitting over .300 at the A-ball level the past two years, but struggled seemingly for the first time in his career when he got to Double-A. While he didn't put up the type of numbers he was used to, he did get his feet wet at the higher level and now that experience gives him a leg up for the 2012 season.

Lyerly Still Adjusting To Double-A

Rob Lyerly has played pretty well since being called up to Double-A but he certainly has encountered some difficulties playing at a higher level. Lyerly is currently hitting .253, an average that dropped drastically after he went through a 0-21 slump.

Lyerly Keeping The Same Approach

TRENTON, NJ - Rob Lyerly, called up from Tampa where he was one of the better hitters, is a recent addition to the Trenton Thunder roster. He is quickly proving that he has enough baseball ability to stay with the Thunder by driving in runs and gaining hits in crucial spots, while also occupying first base.

Lyerly Has More In The Tank

Rob Lyerly led the Charleston Riverdogs in batting average, doubles and runs batted in last year. He was second in total bases and runs scored, while also stealing nine bags. His coaches think he’s got an abundance of potential but coming into the 2011 season with the Tampa Yankees, there’s still a lot to improve upon. And he’s not backing down from the challenge.

Lyerly Still Adjusting

CHARLESTON, SC - Having missed most of the 2009 season due to injury, Robert Lyerly went to Spring Training without the benefit of playing many games with the Staten Island Yankees.
