Kitchens Spent Offseason Differently

Darrin Kitchens went through the offseason workouts and conditioning with the rest of the team, but that’s where the similarities ended. The junior linebacker became the only married player on the team when he tied the knot to his girlfriend of four years on June 23. Kitchens thinks the occurrences off the field have changed the way he approaches the game.

Kitchens Remained Focused

The Florida defense was shell shocked in the first quarter of Saturday’s matchup with overmatched Furman. The Paladins scored 22 points in the opening period and did so with a new look and some ‘trickeration’. Linebacker Darrin Kitchens did his best to help the defense out. The sophomore from Miami led all Gators in tackles with 12 in his first career start as a Gator.

Kitchens is a Gator

The Florida Gators added another stellar linebacker to their recruiting class when Homestead's Darrin kitchens committed publicly to the gators in an assembly at his school. Kitchens is a blur of an outside linebacker and led all of Dade County in sacks in 2009. He marks the 26th commitment for Florida in the 2010 class.

Kitchens’ Final Three

Darrin Kitchens just returned from his official visit to Texas Tech and now says the Red Raiders are in his final three along with Florida and Florida State. “Texas Tech was a great place,” Kitchens said. “Distance doesn’t really matter to me and I liked being at a new place like Texas. It was really cool because there was snow everywhere and that’s not something you get in Florida...”
