Texas A&M freshman left-hander Ross Hales tossed a three-hit shutout against the Texas Longhorns in Saturday's afternoon's 3-0 victory, setting up a rubber game that could very well decide the Big 12 Championship. Burnt Orange Beat reports from the game.

Longhorns Fall to Red Raiders, 4-2

After Friday night’s nine-run performance, things finally appeared to be shaping up for the Longhorns offense. Texas struck quickly again on Saturday, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first off veteran Texas Tech starter A.J. Ramos.
But Ramos and reliever Chad Bettis held the Longhorns scoreless for the game’s final eight innings, and they helped carry the Red Raiders to a 4-2 victory.

Workman Living up to High Expectations

During Augie Garrido’s 13-year tenure at the University of Texas, four Longhorns pitchers have been selected in the top 40 picks of the MLB Draft. The 2009 Texas staff has a handful of pitchers that could be joining that group over the next few years. Perhaps the most talented of the group – and maybe the most talented pitcher Garrido has coached at Texas – is sophomore Brandon Workman.
