Ball: Back, blessed, and going full throttle

When Neiron Ball flashes back to that fateful February day, he softly grazes his scalp with his palm and brushes his fingers down the grooves on his throat. He can locate where the pain of his arteriovenous malformation stung back in 2011, but weaving his hurt into words is more of an insurmountable feat. Nonetheless, he tries...

Muschamp notebook: Ball emerging on edge

Neiron Ball was limited in the weight room during the offseason, but as he continues to get increased time on the field this season, Florida coach Will Muschamp still thinks there is a higher ceiling for the linebacker. Ball missed the 2011 season after having brain surgery. After getting healthy and being cleared to return to the team, Ball has shown the potential of his talent this season.

Ball Returns With Surprising Start

Neiron Ball didn’t know when he would get on the field after Darrin Kitchens beat him out for the starting SAM linebacker spot. After Kitchens got injured on the first kickoff of the game, Ball was forced onto the field sooner than expected. There was a quick moment of nerves, but after 20 months away from a college football game, it came back quick once Ball got back on the field.

Pushing close to 20 offers

A defensive end with linebacker-athleticism. That’s a gift to any team, but it’s a lot harder to find than you might think. The quickness to get off the edge, but the power to be able to work around tackles when the initial explosion just doesn’t cut it. Jackson, Georgia’s Neiron Ball has that kind of potential, and that’s just one of the reasons he’s inching closer to 20 offers right now.
