Alabama QB Phillip Sims Transferring

This time a year ago, the big question remained: Who would be the quarterback for Alabama in 2011? As it turned out, that would not be resolved until just prior to Bama's opening game of 2011 when AJ McCarron earned the starting job. By the end of the year McCarron was earning the Most Valuable Offensive Player Award as the Crimson Tide won the BCS National Championship.

Quarterbacks Will Know The Drill

Part of the pre-game ritual at Bryant-Denny Stadium is the announcement of starting line-ups. It would not be a huge surprise if that practice did not include the starting Alabama quarterback when the Crimson Tide hosts Kent State in the season-opening game a week from Saturday.

No Answer Yet To Quarterback Question

A staple of Southeastern Conference Media Days is the oddity of reporters interviewing reporters. One who has gray hair seems to be a particular target, and so I have been a part of that curious interviewee position for several years. And I knew going in to expect the “Who is going to be the quarterback?” question.

At Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake,Va., football is king.
