FALL CAMP DAY 15: Game prep means season near

CORVALLIS -- The double day practices for fall camp concluded Wednesday, and Oregon State took it rather easy in the evening session, going helmets only and mostly drilling on the schemes of Portland State while walking through their offense and defense with just over a week to go before the season begins.

SCRIMMAGE ONE: Special teams rundown

CORVALLIS -- Fine weather and a crowd of about 750 welcomed the first scrimmage of the fall camp in the Valley. Reser Stadium was alive again with whistles, play calling, sounds of helmets and pads colliding, penalty flags and, oh yes, cheers. The Beaver special teams kicked things off..

DAY 7 PM SESSION: Advantage Defense

CORVALLIS -- The Beaver offense wasn't their sharpest on Monday night, appearing off target and out of sync for much of the second practice of the day. The Beaver D stuffed the running lanes and pushed their way into the backfield. Not helping the offensive cause, a few dropped balls here and there. The OSU offensive attack, however, ended the session on a high note. Plus, a Lyle Moevao update.

The good, the bad, the question: ST

ON PAPER, it's potentially a bellwether year on special teams at Oregon State. Now it's a matter of going out and getting it done. The reasons for optimism? OSU's kicker and punter return this spring, and there will be some competition as well. The majority of the coverage units are back -- including three of the top five special teams tacklers. And Bruce Read returns to the OSU coaching fold.

Beaver D battles back, O's 2-min drill sings

CORVALLIS--A day off on Sunday for the Beavs looks to have been just the tonic. Several who sat out Saturday's session were padded up and back in action Monday -- Jeremy Francis, Slade Norris, Bryant Cornell, Aaron Nichols, Darrell Catchings and Casey Kjos all returned. So too was the defense seemingly energized from the brief respite. There's audio from Mike Riley and more, right after the jump.

OSU FALL CAMP DAY 5: Full contact, injury bug

CORVALLIS--Finally! It was full pads on Tuesday, the first time the sweet sounds of pads and helmets cracking together echoed across the Willamette Valley. OSU has seen few injuries so far but on Tuesday one of the running backs got dinged up -- fortunately according to Mike Riley, the preliminary outlook was positive. Meanwhile, Keith Pankey had a nice day, there's audio from Riley and much more.
