Patton Creating His Role on Offense

It took until his third season on campus to find a role, but Solomon Patton has created a unique fit in the offense this year. The Florida offensive coaches want to use his speed and elusiveness on the edge and have done so with jet sweeps. The coaches have also faked the jet sweeps, making opponents respect Patton’s speed while the Gators continue to run the ball between the tackles.

WRs Come up Big Against Vandy

Florida's group of wide receivers has been under fire for a good majority of the 2010 season. Critics have said more receivers need to get involved. They have said Florida QB's can't air it out because there is no one to catch passes. Those statements are certainly up for debate but a few Gator receivers had big performances against Vanderbilt.

Patton and Clark, Blazing a Trail

It didn't take long with the start of spring practice to notice Solomon Patton and Robert Clark. They were two guys on offense that looked like streaks running past defenders from day one. Patton and Clark were signed by Florida for their speed and agility and both are working hard to establish themselves as slot receivers. Along with Chris Rainey, they have had some dynamic moments this spring.

Solomon Patton...Still Chompin'

It has been a wild week for Solomon Patton. Maybe Team Alabama's best player all week in the Alabama-Mississippi all-star practices, Patton has also had to see his future team lose a game for the first time in 22 tries to his home state team of all things. Patton also got the news that his receiver coach at Florida decided to move on to SEC rival LSU. There has been a lot to think about.
