Vandals fall 40-37 to Wyoming in OT

THE VANDALS, FIGHTING FOR THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE 2012 SEASON, had their best shot yet against Wyoming. Unfortunately for Idaho (0-4), it would be Wyoming (1-3) getting away with the victory as the Cowboys connected for a touchdown in overtime to topple the Vandals 40-37 in Moscow. Idaho ammassed 509 yards of total offense, by far their best effort yet. But big Cowboy plays were the difference.

Vandal road victory is Taylor made

MAKING THE SECOND START OF HIS CAREER AT IDAHO, redshirt sophomore quarterback TAYLOR DAVIS delivered the spark the Vandal offense needed, ending a six-game losing skid with a 32-29 win at San Jose State. After throwing for just 33 yards last week against Hawaii, Davis completed 13-of-20 attempts for 162 yards and a TD at SJSU, while senior tailback Kama Bailey erupted for 163 yards and two TDs.

Just kickin' it ...

THERE ARE A FEW QUESTIONS THAT REMAIN ABOUT WHO WILL START AT A COUPLE POSITIONS FOR IDAHO THIS FALL, but there is one near-certainty: Idaho's Special Teams units should again be solid. Led by First Team All-WAC punter Bobby Cowan, Groza Award Watch List kicker TREY FARQUHAR, and senior Special Teams Captain Tyler Brooks, the Vandals return seasoned veterans in all aspects of the kicking game.

Focusing in on 2009

With LOI Day complete and the new recruits signed, GoVandals.net now turns our focus back on the team that will be assembled for Spring Drills in a couple months. There are several updates with the Vandal roster as Idaho's improving depth allows players to switch positions in 2009, settling in where they can have the biggest impact instead of where they are most needed to provide depth.
