Practice Impressions: Day Nine

Due to the weather conditions on the western shore of Lake Washington, the Huskies decided to stay inside the relatively comfortable confines of the Dempsey Indoor for practice number nine of the spring and while several of "starters" were given the day off to heal up from bumps and bruises, that just allowed some youngsters to get out and shine...

Spring First Half Review - Receivers/TE's

Austin Seferian-Jenkins' indefinite suspension based on a DUI arrest will most likely overshadow anything else that gets reported on this spring, and that's a shame because some real progress has been made with Washington's receivers and tight ends - namely the opportunities gained by going no-huddle and up-tempo through the first six practices in March.

Spring Battles to Watch - WR/TE

With Washington Spring Football less than a week away, it's time to break down the positions and analyze where the real battles for starting time should take place. Today it's the receivers and tight ends, where they don't have any major defections from 2012 but do return two extremely productive players and a bunch of potential behind them. Who will step up?

Season Grade: Passing Game

Washington's passing game dropped off significantly from 2011 to 2012. In 2011, the Huskies were the 35th-best pass offense in the country, averaging 255 yards a game through the air. In 2012, UW only averaged 210 yards a game, sliding them 53 spots down the FBS ladder to the spot occupied by the double-snowman (88). Frosty, indeed.

At 3-3, Steve Sarkisian and the Washington Huskies are now at halftime of their 2012 season. How will they come out in the third quarter, starting with a trip to Arizona? The Wildcats love to score in bunches, but they've been giving up a ton too. Can Washington, who hasn't scored more than 21 points all year to BCS opposition, win a shootout in the desert?

Mid-Season Grades – Offense

Heading into the 2012 football season, few people were worried about the Husky offense. Most analysts call Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian one of the best play-callers in the country and QB Keith Price was coming off a record-setting season, but the offense hasn't been the juggernaut that people expected and they need to get things fixed quickly if they want to make a bowl game this season.
