Green starts, Huskers win Division

10 of 13 for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Not glamorous, but Nebraska will take it. Sophomore quarterback Cody Green, taking the place of the hampered Taylor Martinez, helped the Huskers demolish Colorado and win the North. Green talked about the game, the division and going back to Dallas for the second year in a row.

His time?

You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out the anticipation for Husker fans when it comes to the position of quarterback over this Spring. It's made even more interesting when the incumbent, senior Zac Lee, isn't going to be participating directly. For Cody Green who started two games last year, some might think this is his time. But for him, he says this is everyone's time to shine.

The Questions or the Answers?

Spring football is just three weeks away. That’s how it is
in Nebraska. There’s football season and then there is the waiting for football
season to arrive. But this time can and sometimes is where we can have the most
fun. It’s when we think about all the questions which should have answers after
football season is finished.

Offense trying to improve for now and beyond

It isn't hard to see that the offense hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire. Actually, if you hadn't noticed, you haven't been watching at all. Freshman Cody Green has seen this offense try to take on a new identity to try and actually move the ball down the field. But he said that these practices and the subsequent bowl game are great opportunities to get the offense back on track.

Green wants to make most of opportunities

His maturity comes through. Not just from his voice though. It also comes through how he approaches the game. There's only one potential hit which separates the top two quarterbacks, and Green knows that if Lee goes down, he's the guy. But he approaches this situation knowing that he's number two. It's OK with him, though, because while he wants to play, he also wants to learn.

A prelude to a Husker: Cody Green

The hopes of the 2009 recruiting class are high. Most of those hopes seem to be pinned to the development and the production that Cody Green has in Lincoln one day as the signal caller. Green is headed up to Lincoln in less than a week, so Big Red Report took this last opportunity to catch up with him so you could get to know him a little better.

It was a shootout in the 4A championship in San Antonio yesterday with Cody Green leading his Dayton (Texas) team against Sulphur Springs. Over 100 points were scored and over 1,400 yards were racked up in a game that, unlike so many this season for Green, didn’t end in Dayton’s favor. Green reflects on the season and getting to Lincoln in a couple of short weeks

Green goes off in regional playoff win

To say that Dayton quarterback Cody Green had a good game in the 42-21 win over Brenham would be an understatement. While the Cubs were double-teaming athlete A.J. Dugat, it was Green finding the creases and moving the offense down the field. In the end, Green finished with 330 total yards and four touchdowns. TexasPrepInsider talked with Green after the game to get his thoughts.

Still on the run

Not even Cody Green would have guessed that with one game into the playoffs that he would be this close to going for 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing. What’s more is that Green couldn’t have imagined that he would have the passing yardage before the rushing yardage. The future Husker weighs in on the season, the record and some late interest he’s receiving.

In the drama that is recruiting, it is suspense that sells. Therefore, when a prospect commits (especially when he does it early), a certain amount of luster is lost. The truth is, most fans care deeply about how or what their commits are doing. This is precisely why Scout.com places an emphasis on those whose future is set. Scout.com catches up with Nebraska commit, Cody Green.

For himself, Green said that the trip was something he found hard to describe, and he talked about other players, one in particular, he thought saw NU in an entirely different light.
