SALUTE COSTLY TO WILDCATS

NEW YORK, NY. - K-State did enough to lose the game, but also enough to have a shot at tying the score at 36-36 with 1:13 remaining after Adrian Hilburn caught a 30-yard touchdown closing the difference to 36-34. For saluting the Wildcat fans, Hilburn was flagged for an unsportsmanlike penalty, which put KSU’s try-for-two back at the 18-yard line.

Prince Sets Rotations

Along with trying to win games today, Kansas State coach Ron Prince is also trying to set up future wins by making early-season decisions on redshirts. Prince appears to be set on a dozen offensive linemen, and a primary rotation of five wide receivers.

Brown After Receiver Spot

Lamark Brown went pretty much unnoticed in 2007, but aims to correct that standing within the K-State football team in 2008. He may not personally replace Jordy Nelson’s 122 catches, but the Wildcat sophomore does want to do his part.

Hilburn looking forward to season

Once a four year school dips into a junior college school, a bit of a bond or relationship is formed. Two years ago, Nebraska went and got Maurice Purify from San Francisco (Calif.) City College of San Francisco. Last year his quarterback, Zac Lee, went to Nebraska. This year, the Huskers once again went to C.C.S.F. and nabbed an offensive weapon.

CCSF Preview

One of the more storied programs in the California Juco ranks is City College of San Francisco. Annually they produce tons of talented four-year prospects and they’ve parlayed that into three national championships this decade. Head coach George Rush was gracious enough to speak with JCFootball.com recently and he previewed his top prospects heading into the 2007 season.

The latest Husker comments on commitment

Pipelines can be formed due to strong coaching ties, but don't overlook the bonds with past teammates. Coach Dennis Wagner and players Maurice Purify and Zac Lee both at Nebraska, gave Adrian Hilburn a lot of confidence in his decision to become a Cornhusker. He also knows that Nebraska offers the best chance for his own personal development as a player.

Nebraska picks up commitment

Another year, another player from City College of San Francisco (Calif.) for Nebraska. This is the second wide receiver in three years for Nebraska from C.C.S.F. as well and it comes to a side of the football that in the 2008 class is already loaded. Now, Nebraska goes out and gets a vertical weapon to go with it's top quarterback and top offensive line class it has going.
