Black to BYU Meant to Be

Jordan Black signed a letter of intent last week with BYU after having committed almost a full year ago. He committed right after receiving his official offer from Cougar head coach Bronco Mendenhall after a very significant day in his life. Considering the timing and the circumstances of his BYU offer, Black firmly believes that his signing with the Cougars was meant to be.

Haws Talks About Talented Quarterback Cousin

Freshman basketball sensation Tyler Haws is making a name for himself on the court. Being the son of former BYU standout guard Marty Haws, the athletic genes run deep in the family.
Davies Healing Nicely

The Cougar hoopsters have had bad luck when it comes to health this year. Their health problems have ranged from inconvenient (Jimmer Fredette’s mono) to life-threatening (Coach Rose’s pancreatic cancer). Freshman center Brandon Davies recently had health problems of his own, having had to undergo an appendectomy. Fortunately, like Fredette and Rose, Davies appears to be healing nicely.

BYU's Offense More Efficient This Year

Coach Rose’s teams are routinely at or near the top of the conference each year in various offensive statistical categories, and have accounted for various MWC records. That doesn’t mean, however, that the Cougars’ up-tempo offense is always running on all cylinders. Nevertheless, it has become more efficient this season, and BYU is avoiding the shooting slumps that plagued it last season.
